THERAPEUTIC HERBAL WORKSHOP
with Brosnan Jaishri Spencer & Kaitlin Treloar
Saturday & Sunday, November 17-18, 2018
10:00 am – 5:00 pm both days
During this two-day workshop participants will be led through making several herbal infusions, described below by Brosnan:
Elderberry Syrup – An immune boosting tonic. A natural remedy for colds and flus.
Herbal Wound Salve – For cuts, scrapes, and burns.
X̣ousʼ X̣ousʼ (Bear root) Honey – Supports health and healing for respiratory conditions.
Herbal Body Butter – Healing and rejuvenating moisturizer for skin and hair.
About the Instructors: Brosnan “Jaishri” Spencer is a CTUIR tribal member, a Mother and Licensed Massage Therapist. She loves growing, wild harvesting and making natural treatments. She has experienced the healing power of plants and wants to share what she he has learned. Kaitlin Treloar is also an enrolled member of the CTUIR. Kaitlin grew up in the Longhouse traditions of digging roots, picking berries, and learning the ways of Washat. Natural Healing is her lifepath and passion. She enjoys being out on the land, and gathering wild herbs.
What to bring: All materials including containers to take home your herbal infusions will be supplied. A light lunch will also be provided, if you have special dietary restrictions please bring a sack lunch. Brosnan will also be sharing some of her favorite tea and honey beverage.
Registration: This class is open to Tribal Members only (CTUIR, as well as other tribal areas). This class is pay-as-you-can, with a suggested $20 donation to Crow’s Shadow to cover some of the material expenses; no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
