The Crow's Shadow Biennial is back at our partner institution, The Hallie Ford Museum of Art (HFMA), which recently reopened to the public. A lot has transpired since the CSIA 25th Anniversary Exhibition, including quite a few new prints, so the HFMA is hosting our biennial in two parts to accommodate all of the recent works. Curated by Professor of Anthropology Rebecca Dobkins, Part I of this exhibition features 19 prints working with themes of landscape, abstraction, portraiture, word and images, and media and process. Included in the exhibition are works by 13 Native and non-Native artists who have worked at CSIA, including Avantika Bawa, Marwin Begaye, Raven Chacon, Yoonhee Choi, Jovencio de la Paz, Modou Dieng, Demian Dinéyazhi’, Ka’ila Farrell-Smith, Yoshihiro Kitai, Yatika Starr Fields, James Lavadour, Vanessa Renwick, and Marie Watt.
Exhibition Part I: now open to the public, ends April 24, 2021 Exhibition Part II: tentatively scheduled May 8 - August 14, 2021
The HFMA reopened at the end of February, and you can purchase Timed Entry Tickets online. The museum is located on the beautiful campus of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. General admission is $6, with lower pricing options for students and seniors. Tuesdays are free.
