V Maldonado
V Maldonado is a Portland-based interdisciplinary artist who creates conceptually driven work about nothing. Born in Changuitiro, Michoacán, Mexico, with paternal and maternal great grandmothers of Purépecha lineage, Maldonado received their BFA in Painting and Drawing from the California College of Art (2000) and their MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2005). They are an Assistant Professor and Inclusions Specialist at the Pacific Northwest College of Art and is also a freelance writer and independent curator of Northwest art. Their work has most recently been acquired by the Tacoma Art Museum, Tacoma, WA and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX.
